A typical volunteer opportunity is 1.5 hours with volunteers contributing around 5 hours per month. There is no mininum or maximum time expectation for volunteers.

Most volunteer roles do not require a background check. However, any role that serves a child directly and any role that requires the use of a company fleet vehicle will likely require a criminal background check or a DMV background check. All employees of ECHO are required to maintain an active and clear background check.

It depends on the role. Most volunteer roles will only initially require our general training module which takes about 15-30 minutes to complete online. If your role is family-facing, you'll be invited to our trauma-competencies training modules which are usually about an hour per module and take place mostly in-person.
