GIFTS IN-KIND

Do you have office space, technology, services, or goods that can be used to improve the lives of children and families? If so, let's explore how these resources can be put to use for the good of those in need.

If you'd have items to donate, here are a few things to know (click each question to expand):

Can I donate used car seats?

In many situations, yes! However, there are limitations. For example, a used car seat can be donated but only if meets the following criteria:

  • it has never been involved in an accident (even if it was unoccupied during the accident)

  • it has at least 1 year remaining before the expiration date

  • it has all the original clips, retainers, cushions, and straps and all are clean and in good working order

If all of these criteria are met, please reach out to arrange a time to drop it off.

What about clothing? What types and what sizes?

Gosh, this is a great question... the easy answer is ALL. But here's a brief list of what we go through most frequently:

  • pajamas for little kids (birth to pre-teen)

  • socks and shoes for kids and teens

  • hoodies for teens

  • undergarments for all ages, all sizes, all genders

As a note: while used, in good condition items are typically acceptable, items like socks, undergarments, and pajamas should generally be new/unworn.

Can you accept open packages of diapers?

You know it! And because we re-bundle diapers by size in packs of 25, an opened package just makes life a little easier for our volunteers. You can run them by our office and leave them in the dropbox outside any time of day or night. Simply reach out and request a code to unlock the box.

Are you able to accept furniture donations?

The short answer is, it depends. We're severely limited on storage space. So while we can help direct your furniture to a family who needs it, we may not be able to store it on-site. Smaller items like bed rails and crib mattresses don't take up much space, but mattresses, dressers, dining sets, sofas, etc. are simply more than our space can hold at the moment.

If you have furniture to donate, please let us know. We can tell you if there's an open need for your items, or if you can hold them for awhile, reach out to you when a need arises.

Can I get tax credit for my donated items or services?

Absolutely! When you make a donation of goods and/or services, we can generate a donation receipt for the fair market value of your donation. It's one of the easiest ways for you to reduce your tax liability AND do a tremendous amount of good in your community. Just mention it to us and we'll make sure you get what you need for your records.

If you have items to donate or services you'd like to provide, please reach out to us at hello@wearetheecho.org or send us a message via the chat on this site.
