Nuri Family
The Nuri Family is a resettled family and new to this country. They have three children under the age of four, and all three children are in diapers. Mr. Nuri has found work near their home (he must walk to work because they do not have a car). Mrs. Nuri stays home with the children. The family is taking English classes at the local library.
Evans Family
Ms. Evans is a single mother to her four young children. She had a stable job but experienced a high-risk crisis pregnancy. She now stays home to provide constant medical care to her children. She is at risk of losing her home but cannot find childcare for her children (due to their high medical needs).
Wright Family
Mr. Wright is a single father to four young children. He lives in his parents’ garage and is set to graduate from community college next year. His parents help babysit his children, however he does not feel this is the safest option. He is saving money and working to secure housing and build a safe home for his family.
Quinn Family
Ms. Quinn is a single mother to four young children under the age of three. She aged out of foster care without a permanent family, and has no support system. She is currently homeless, but has a job and is working on her GED. She hopes to find permanent housing in the next few months and is working to create a stable life for her family.
Noor Family
The Noor Family is a resettled family and new to this country. They are raising their two children and three young nieces. They have five children under the age of five. Mr. Noor has found work near their home and recently passed his driver’s test. Mrs. Noor stays home with the children and is taking English classes (and teaching it to the children). They are saving to purchase a car next year.
Smith Family
Ms. Smith is a single mother to her five young children. She aged out of foster care without a permanent family, was immediately homeless, and trafficked sometime later. She completed her GED, has a stable job and hopes to begin online college next year. She is working to create a stable life for her family.
Khar Family
The Khar Family is a resettled family and new to this country. They are raising their two children and three young nephews. They have five children under the age of four, and all five children are in diapers. Mr. Khar has found work near their home (he must walk to work because they do not have a car). Mrs. Khar stays home with the children and is taking English classes (and teaching it to the children).
Harold Family
The Harold Family is a kinship family. Their only child struggles with addiction and is unable to safely parent the children. The Harolds are currently raising their eight grandchildren. Both Mr. and Mrs. Harold are retired, however Mr. Harold is currently looking for a job to help with expenses.
Jordanne Family
The Jordanne Family is currently homeless. Mrs. Jordanne is a single mother to her four children and recently became the guardian for her four nieces and nephews. She could not afford daycare costs and had to quit her job to care for the children (which contributed to her eviction). She is currently training for a remote job and is hopeful that she will be able to find stable housing in the near future.
