COASTAL VIRGINIA COALITION

A network of leaders from local churches, business, and civic services working together to support safe homes for the children of Coastal Virginia.

United By Our Beliefs

Every Child Deserves a Safe, Loving Home

Children who feel safe in their home perform better in school and athletics. When children are loved, they have more empathy toward others and are more generous to those in need. Love and safety are basics. No kid should ever fear going home.

Every Home Needs a Supportive Community

Parenting is hard work. Parenting children from hard places is often even harder. No two child-raising experiences are the same, but knowing a support network exists improves the success factor of almost every family. Families without it are more likely to fracture and expose their children to undue stress, anxiety, and fear.

Every Community is made of Capable Somebodys

In every community, tribe, or group there are people resourced and ready to meet the needs of these families. Civic clubs, fraternal organizations, business networks, and churches all have one thing in common; they're comprised of people who are eager to help.

Everybody Can Do Something

Whether you're 18 or 80 years old, you have a role to play. Maybe you like reading or taking kids to a park, or you're a great cook, or handy around the house. Maybe you've got an extra vehicle in the driveway... the possibilities are endless. No matter who you are, you can do something!

0 DAYS TO THE EVENT
Play is the language of children. It shapes the brain. Play is necessary to create felt safety, and connection, and manage big emotions, behaviors, and dysregulation. Understanding the nine unique play personalities (for ourselves and our children) helps empower connection and cognitive development.
