HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED?
"Some of you will reclaim the deserted ruins of your city. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes." (Isaiah 58:12)
A legacy worth living for – one that will outlive you – takes intention. In your hands you have all the power to choose the story of your life. And the ways you choose to sacrifice for others determine the legacy you leave behind.
What will you choose?
Your gift of $25 a month provides emergency resources to families in crisis. Resources like diapers, formula, and bottles for a vulnerable baby. Or a brand new duffel bag filled with pajamas and toiletries for a child who’s about to spend his first night in a new foster home with nothing to call his own. These resources create a sense of belonging and tell these children: We see you, we care about you, and you’re safe.
CLOSE THE GAP
Just $80 a month can provide care to vulnerable families. And where foster care is the only safe option, your giving closes the gap between a child sleeping in a hotel room or in a safe and dependable foster home. It equips foster families with the resources they need to say yes. It keeps siblings together, rather than separated. And when possible, your giving provides resources for the family of origin. It provides stability to families in crisis, so the number of children requiring state intervention is reduced. It keeps children in their homes. Your giving is family preservation.
Your gift of $120 a month helps accelerate the timeline to permanency, so every child knows the safety and security of a lasting, loving home. Virginia is 47th in permanency, meaning too many children age out of foster care without a forever family. Within two years, 89% of these children end up homeless, trafficked, pregnant, incarcerated, or dead. Your gift educates and equips more families to say yes to teens who need homes. It advocates for relative placements and it mentors young adults to build resiliency, by making sure they have at least one stable and caring adult in their life.
